We sailed to Universal Marina, River Hamble on Saturday to meet up with Claire, Matt, and Charlie for Claire's Birthday Weekend. The sail was exhilarating with winds of up to 23 knots in the Solent and into Southampton Water. We all spent the afternoon walking Saffy along the coast path towards Swanwick but we got soaked when it started pouring down. Back on board, our clothes tried to dry out whilst Charlie kept us all busy playing Uno. It got serious when the last slice of Claire's chocolate birthday cake became the winner's prize!

Riding the Pink Ferry to Hamble
Sunday morning we took a lovely 2 mile walk southwards this time along the Solent Way to Warsash where we jumped on board the pink ferry across to Hamble. After Sunday lunch in 'The King and Queen' and Ice Cream at the Cafe we were too stuffed to walk all the way back so Dean called the River Water Taxi to take us back to Thesee. Well what a treat we all had, when Charlie found himself upgraded to 'Captain' and helmed the water taxi all the way back up the river. Well done to Charlie for his superb steering!
