Just setting out from home
We spotted a small patch of snow in Thesee's cockpit, but the rest has obviously thawed. Unintentionally we arrived spot on high tide. Springs tomorrow. The gangplank onto the pontoon was almost horizontal, making the trolleys easy to control. We had three more new batteries with us.. the engine battery and two bow thruster batteries. That's the lot renewed now. However, we still have issues with the battery charger. It seems to be continuously in equalization mode, and it won't trip over to float mode. Dean will do some investigations on this.
Replacing the Bow Thruster batteries under the bed in the forecabin.
Note the new super-duper mattress on the right.
Thesee must have been very cold whilst we've been away, so cold in fact that our Olive Oil has solidified!
Never seen Olive Oil like this before
Tomorrow we are going to the BOA AGM at the Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble. Better not drink too much vino tonight then.
Sunday 4th March... The alarm clock was set for 7am and so we got up, had our scrambled eggs 😃 got ready, walked Saffy, and headed off to the AGM at Hamble. We didn't have much time for a catch up with our fellow members before the meeting started. That was followed up by a very good presentation by Dr Simon Boxall, an Oceanographer from Southampton University. He explained all about how waves behave and their movement in the oceans and appropriately in the English Channel. Afterwards we stayed for lunch at the Yacht Club, meeting two lovely couples on the same table. It was great to see all our friends and fellow BOA members again. When we returned to Gosport it was still a pleasant day and so Dean removed the guard wires along the starboard side of the boat. We've had a recent rig inspection and they suggest we get them replaced.
BOA members today too
Meeting over, time to head back now

The pink ferries aren't very busy today
Removing Thesee's guard wires
Monday 5th March 2018... Busy, Busy, Busy it was this morning. In fact i think Dean was on a mission. He spent quite a while on the phone arranging his day and talking to lots of people about the faulty battery charger. Looks like it's definately kaput. He went off to Swanwick to pick up the newly serviced liferaft from Universal Safety. That's good for another 3 years now.
Here's the liferaft back in situ in the liferaft locker
Also, whilst he was in that area he went to Aladdin's Cave Rigging and got his new set of guardwires made up whilst he waited. He was a happy bunny when he returned, even though his wallet was a whole lot lighter. We've also handed in the out of date flares and purchased a new set. The new Navionics update card we purchased has been tested out in the Chartplotter and seems to be fine, so we're very happy about that. It covers the whole of West and Central Europe, WOW. Later on, Dean fitted the new guardwires, with that extra little bit of TLC as always. They look very smart indeed. More chart corrections for Linda, and the knot practise is going well.

Tensioning in progress
Dean's TLC, the extra bit of plastic tube to help stop stantion damage
Only two more visits before we are on the move again. Time flies.
